The practice facilities and organization of tee times is top notch, especially since they average 230 rounds per day in season. Free range balls, chipping balls, and putting green are all waiting for you after you check in with the pro-shop. There is a starter waiting in the area with lots of golf cart parking and your name is announced on a loud speaker when its time to tee off. You will also notice a lot of members using their own course approved golf carts.
The Pro Shop is exceptional! Friendly staff, large clothing selection, clubs for sale, as well as balls/tees/shoes/gear. Drive up, drop your bags at the bag drop and they will be put on the cart for you while you go park the car. When your done, they’ll remove them & clean them from the cart so you can just get your car and drive up without having to lug clubs through the parking lot. The restaurant doesn’t open until lunch time, but there is a beverage cart person that drives around multiple times during your round. Course condition has been near perfect during our times in season and out of season, even during the summer! The club uses reciprocity during the summer months, so unless you purchase a PGA pass, you won’t be able to play this course. (not on GolfNow). The course winds through a nice, gated community with water on just a few holes. We love hole 18, which requires you to lay up from the tee box, before hitting your 2nd shot onto the island green!

This Par-60 is our favorite executive course in SouthWest Florida. While not a very challenging course, it is a lot of fun to play, whether you walk or drive. Located inside a neighborhood with lots of local members, they are very welcoming to outside guests using sites like GolfNow. Also, they have always been very welcoming to our son, as well as other juniors we have seen on the course. Even the local players/members have enjoyed playing with us during our times there. (Although most times we are not paired up with people)
Pro Shop is small, but has used clubs for sale, gear, balls, and refreshments. Small putting green just off hole 1 with a chipping green just behind it. The course winds through a neighborhood and you need to be careful with drives on a few holes as to not hit a house! 3 holes require a water carry, including the par-4 17th hole. Golf Carts or Push carts are included in the tee time reservation and you can book either 9 or 18 holes. No GPS on board, so be sure to bring your range finder to get a more exact yardage. Pricing is much higher in season. Pro Tip: during the summer they tend to aerate often, make sure you call ahead of time! This is our favorite course in SW Florida! First and most important, is the staff. Not only are they all friendly & well-trained, but they just love having kids of all ages come play the course. The course itself has up to 6 tee-boxes on every hole, including junior tees! (Although some Junior tees are better suited for teenagers vs younger kids, so we just tee our little guy up in the fairway of those holes).
Course condition – very well kept, especially in season. Over the summer, they had to aerate multiple times, but that is to ensure a very enjoyable experience when prices increase. All of the carts have GPS and will lock on you if you try to drive too close to the greens or the ‘no cart signs’. Facilities – Large driving range ($8 per bag of balls), a putting green, and chipping green with bunkers for practice (no charge and plenty of range balls usually on the chipping green). The Pro-shop is fully stocked with rental clubs, gear, balls, etc. Attached to the pro-shop is a Duffy’s restaurant, which has great food & happy hours. (chain restaurant in Florida). Playing the course – Not a frustrating course, but challenging enough for better golfers to still enjoy their round. The word is that Old Corkscrew is the hardest course in the area, but we don’t find that course THAT much harder than this one. A few of the par 3’s are relatively easy here and I would recommend moving back a tee to increase the challenge. The rate of play is average in season, a ranger does drive around checking on people and a beverage cart person does as well. |
